Word of the Week: Faithfully Waiting in Prayer and Fasting

For all the families and friends on our Sick and Shut-in list, this is a heartfelt call to pray and fast as we wait upon the Lord with faith. In times of uncertainty, struggle, and decision-making, we are reminded to trust in God’s perfect timing and remain steadfast in our faith.

Let us lift up in prayer:

  • Those who are sick, shut-in, or in need of healing.
  • First responders, doctors, nurses, firefighters, and all frontline workers who serve tirelessly.
  • The entire State of Texas, our communities, and the nation as a whole.
  • The President of the United States, government leaders, and decision-makers.
  • One Way Baptist Churchβ€”its leaders, ministers, deacons, ministry leaders, and membership.

As we commit to prayer and fasting, let us set aside three days each week to focus on these needs, waiting on the Lord in faith.

Scriptures for Reflection on Faithfully Waiting:
πŸ“– Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

πŸ“– Lamentations 3:25-26 – “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”

πŸ“– Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”

πŸ“– James 5:7-8 – “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.”

πŸ“– Habakkuk 2:3 – “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

πŸ“– Romans 8:25 – “But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

Hour of Prayer:
Join us in a time of personal and family prayer every Monday in your private sanctuary at home. Let us pray for our country, state, city, and one another as we wait expectantly for God’s movement in our lives.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you faithfully wait on Him.
